Licensed Mental Health Therapist
I have dedicated 35 years to the field as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, working in a variety of settings including mental health hospitals, substance abuse programs, and community-based environments. My experience spans in-home services, office settings, and working with clients in jail, allowing me to support individuals in diverse and often challenging situations. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals, families, and couples, helping people of all ages and cultures along their path to healing and growth.
A few of my primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Art Therapy, which I use to help clients develop practical skills for life changes. With my Ed.D in Counseling Psychology, I am an adjunct professor at Hodges University, specializing in teaching psychology and sociology to nursing students.
Outside of my professional work, I find peace in simple pleasures. I enjoy visiting antique stores and occasionally buying special pieces. I am creative at heart, with a love of drawing and painting. I enjoy making my house feel like home through remodeling, working in my yard with my plants, and walking my dog and teaching her new tricks. Most of all, I treasure the time I spend with my children and grandchildren (8) and one great grandchild.
